Onebip introduces Trusted Direct Carrier Billing flow for Vodafone in Spain

As part of our aim to continuously develop and introduce new Onebip products and features that can help our partners further monetize their goods and services via carrier billing globally, we’ve partnered with Vodafone to introduce Trusted Direct Carrier Billing for desktop web, mobile web and in-app payments in Spain.

Trusted Direct Carrier Billing offers a faster, quicker and simpler flow for users compared to the traditional Direct Carrier Billing flow since there is no redirection to the carrier hosted page and the payment page is fully-customizable which allows merchants to take control of the look and feel of payment pages to create a customized and fully branded user experience.

Vodafone’s trusted service works through PIN authentication flow on web and with one-click flow on mobile web and in-app channels which leads higher revenue share, better conversion rates and increased billing success rates. From our observations, conversion rates will increase up to 5% with the trusted flow.

Authentication as a service

The management of subscriptions can sometimes be a very complex and time consuming activity for merchants. The identification flow could be used as an independent process to allow merchant to identify subscribed customers: we call this API service Authentication As A Service ““AAAS”. The merchant can delegate the recognition of the user to Onebip, that will provide the Merchant a complete view of the customer such as services subscribed and charging status; if the user has paid or not paid for the current period of subscription. When a user is not subscribed to the service, Onebip can redirect the user to a payment landing page where the customer can subscribe the service.

AAAS helps merchants ensure that the subscription products such as image galleries, video streaming, downloadable files can be reached only by the users who have already subscribed to the service.

Onebip also offers subscription customer base management which keeps track and manages the merchant’s subscriber list. Merchants that use this service don’t need to manage their subscription customer base database because Onebip will keep track of all activities including subscribers, unsubscribers and cancellations. All of this information will be available in real-time for the merchant to review and analyze in Onebip’s reporting tool.

Direct Carrier In-app Billing in Turkey

Onebip has launched direct carrier in-app billing with mobile networks Turkcell, Vodafone and Avea which will help app developers and publishers further monetize their goods and services from within their applications in Turkey. Thanks to higher conversion rates of direct carrier billing, it can significantly increase app revenues, especially for the free-to-play apps offering in-app purchases, providing them with a fast and easy payment method for their users compared to the hassle of other payment solutions like Google Play or Credit Card.
