Onebip works with Turkcell and the Turkish Football Federation on mobile ticketing service for international matches



We’ve just successfully completed three m-ticketing trials for the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) together with Turkcell, Turkey’s leading communications and technology company. From September to November, more than 2000 football match ticket transactions were processed using Turkcell’s Smart Ticket application, which is powered by Onebip’s mobile payment service. The m-ticketing service allowed football fans to purchase their match tickets via mobile. The trials were run for three international football matches including Turkey vs. Estonia, Turkey vs. Romania and Turkey vs. Denmark.

The integration of Onebip’s mobile payment service with Turkcell’s Smart Ticket application allowed fans to buy tickets via SMS using any mobile phone. To purchase a ticket, fans simply sent an SMS to “3544” with the message “BiLET” and the ticket price was charged directly to their mobile phone bill. The fan then received an m-ticket code, which was activated at special gates in the stadium to allow entry into the match.

The TFF m-ticketing trials provided football fans with an easy and fast way to buy match tickets via their mobile phone. It saved them from having to queue at ticket counters or print out tickets purchased online. The trial also enabled football fans who may not have had a bank account or credit card to purchase match tickets.

We’re excited to be part of the first football m-ticketing project in Turkey and to work with the Turkish Football Federation and Turkcell on such an innovative mobile service for football fans in the country. With Onebip’s deep expertise in mobile payments and advanced billing technology, all three of the mobile ticketing trials in Turkey ran smoothly for Turkcell and their customers.
